the Mean Free Path: I

/13th April 2018: Data-record of observation of the White Island volcano, screenshots documentation, trachea (clay), audio (10 min 22 sec)/

Observation of the real-time camera (100 images updated every 10 min) of the White Island active volcano in New Zealand for 7 days on the GeoNet.org.nz. Creation of a collection of screenshots of the volcano’s smoke and underwater sounds generated by an interactive patch on MAX software created for the work. This is a search for the ultimate gap, a space of freedom called the Mean Free Path that is the average distance gas particles are traveling before colliding. A reflection on habits, obsession, myth and paradox.
